Weight Loss
Obesity has now been recognized as a global epidemic and a major public health problem in the USA. It is a chronic disease that is increasing in prevalence in adults, adolescents, and children. In the United States, the lifetime risk of becoming overweight or obese is approximately 50 and 25%, respectively. Obesity is associated with a significant increase in mortality and risk of many disorders, including fatty liver, diabetes mellitus, hypertension, dyslipidemia, heart disease, stroke, sleep apnea, cancer, and many others. Therefore, weight loss is associated with a reduction in obesity-associated morbidity.
I have incorporated two weight loss programs in my practice to guide my patients reach their healthy weight goals and maintain their weight loss on their path to the optimal health.
